On Saturday, January 28th, a group of Dufferin Peel teachers, along with family and friends, participated in the Walk for Memories for their fifteenth year.
In 2002, their team, the Flying Foxes, started with three people whose families were dealing with Alzheimer’s. The team has grown throughout the years, but its members still gather annually to celebrate the year’s milestones, share the challenges of the disease, and honour people important to them who’ve been affected by Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. To date, they have raised more than $65 000.00 to aid the Alzheimer Society of Toronto in its work.
